Neil L. Cohen joined Woodman & Eaton in 2008. He received his B.A. from Hobart College in 1985, his J.D. from Suffolk University in 1994 and his LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University in 1997.
Prior to joining Woodman & Eaton Neil was a member of a small boutique estate planning firm in Boston and an associate in the Private Client Group of Nixon Peabody LLP in Boston, as well as the Private Client Group in the Boston office of Arthur Anderson LLP.
A resident of Reading, Neil is very involved in the community. In addition to being a director and secretary of the Reading Public Library Foundation, Neil is a Commissioner of Trust Funds. He has also served on the Reading Finance Committee, as a Town Meeting Member and as the vice-chair of the Tax Classification Advisory Committee. Neil has also served as a lecturer for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, most recently in 2006 presenting on Personal Residence Trusts, Preserving and Transferring the Principal Residence. He is a member of both the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
Neil and his wife, Diane, have two children who are very involved in the local sports programs. His personal interests include reading, bicycling and hiking.
Neil practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Wealth Strategies Design, Trust Funding, Estate Administration and Trust Administration. He also counsels individuals on the formation and administration of business entities and tax-exempt charitable organizations.
