Our History

On July 4, 1980, Byron Woodman, after practicing as a partner at Sherburne, Powers & Needham in Boston, opened his own office in his hometown of Concord. A few years later, Bill Eaton also decided to leave a downtown Boston law practice and joined Byron to form Woodman & Eaton, P.C. Byron, Bill, and Peter Johnson who joined them in 1990, have assisted families and business owners with their estate, business and financial planning needs and built Woodman & Eaton into one of the premier estate and business planning boutique firms in the state.

On the evening of October 1, 2007, unexpectedly, Bill Eaton suffered a heart attack and died at home. The loss of Bill was very sad and difficult for all of the members of the office; they lost a friend, partner and mentor.

In July of 2008, Neil Cohen joined the firm and brought his years of experience to help continue on with the practice.

The firm has greatly benefited from the dedication of paralegals and support staff who have been members of the team for long periods of time.
